KUALA LUMPUR, 14 JULY – The Malaysian Army will conduct Exercise KERIS STRIKE 2025 from 17 to 30 July in cooperation with the United States Army and the Australian Army.
According to an official statement issued by the Malaysian Army’s Public Affairs, the exercise will take place in and around the districts of Ipoh, Sungai Siput, Kuala Kangsar and Lenggong in the state of Perak.
This annual exercise aims to enhance combined operational capabilities between the three armies, strengthen bilateral and trilateral defence ties, and improve the Malaysian Army’s readiness to address a range of regional security threats.
The Malaysian Army also advised the public, particularly residents within the training zones, to remain calm and not be alarmed by the presence of foreign military personnel, the movement of convoys or any military activity conducted during the exercise period.
KERIS STRIKE 2025 builds on last year’s iteration, which was held in Sabah. That exercise marked a significant milestone as Australia officially joined the training as a trilateral partner, transitioning Keris Strike from a longstanding Malaysia–US bilateral format to a broader trilateral framework.
The 2024 exercise involved more than 3,000 personnel from all three countries and focused on the exchange of technologies, expertise and operational doctrines. It also deepened mutual understanding and coordination in addressing Indo-Pacific security challenges.
KERIS STRIKE continues to serve as a vital platform for testing joint readiness, interoperability and strategic endurance between the armies of Malaysia, the United States and Australia. – airtimes.my
