TEHRAN, 28 JAN – A tragic incident unfolded as a group of Pakistani workers lost their lives in an attack by gunmen.
The incident occurred in the Iran-Pakistan border region of Saravan.
According to reports from Iranian media, the attack, which took place on Saturday, also left three others injured. Iranian police are currently in pursuit of three gunmen.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister alleges that this attack was orchestrated by entities attempting to escalate diplomatic tensions between the two nations.
“Saddened over the death of Pakistanis in Iran in a terrorist attack. This heinous attack is an attempt to spoil relations between Pakistan and Iran by our common enemies
“While offering condolences to the families of victims, urge the Iranian govt for action,” stated Jalil Abbas Jilani in his official social media account.
Tehran-Islamabad relations had already been strained due to cross-border attacks launched by both sides last week.
