#Pertahanan: Malaysia and United States commandoes conduct 21-day combat training

MERSING, JUNE 27 – The Malaysian commando, Grup Gerak Khas (GGK) and the United States Special Operations Forces (U.S SOF) have completed a joint training exercise lasting 21 days in Johor.

The Balance Mint Exercise began in early June and involved various training activities encompassing special forces operations.

Among the exercises conducted were jungle operations, mountain operations, reconnaissance, amphibious operations, and tactical combat.

Chief of Staff for the 21st Malaysian Special Service Regiment (GGK), Brigadier General Shuhaimi Mat Wajab delivered his speech during Eks Balance Mint closing ceremony.

The closing ceremony of Exercise Balance Mint was officiated by the Chief of Staff for the 21st Malaysian Special Service Regiment (GGK), Brigadier General Shuhaimi Mat Wajab.

In his speech, the Chief of Staff emphasized that this joint exercise would significantly impact both parties.

“Despite differences in procedures, tactics, techniques, and protocols, I believe that both forces are capable of working together through discussions and joint training,

“I am sure that all of you have successfully overcome the obstacles and proved that nothing is impossible when special forces work together,” he said.

He added that the GGK and US SOF had shared knowledge and experiences throughout Exercise Balance Mint.
