ANKARA, 31 May – Turkish defence technology company ASELSAN has solidified its global standing by being ranked the 18th most valuable defence firm in the world and 9th in Europe, according to the latest data from CompaniesMarketCap.com, dated 20 May 2025.
The ranking, published by Visual Capitalist, highlights the largest defence contractors worldwide by real-time market capitalisation, underscoring ASELSAN’s accelerating growth, innovation leadership, and expanding global influence.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for ASELSAN, which has been steadily climbing the international ranks with its cutting-edge defence systems including radar, tactical communications, electronic warfare, and air defence solutions. Its inclusion in the top 20 list reflects growing investor confidence and the company’s upward market trajectory.
Previously, ASELSAN was placed 48th on the Top 100 Defence Companies list by Defense News in 2021 and maintained that position in 2022. In 2023, it rose to 47th place, and most recently in 2024, it reached 42nd, with reported defence revenues nearing USD 3 billion and nearly 30% year-on-year growth. However, this is the first time the company has been ranked in the top 20 globally by market capitalisation.
Visual Capitalist’s listing focuses on market performance rather than annual revenues, offering a clearer picture of investor sentiment and real-time corporate value.
This success aligns with Turkiye’s long-term strategy to strengthen defence self-sufficiency while expanding its global defence exports. ASELSAN’s growing footprint across more than 88 countries, alongside new export contracts totalling USD 601 million in 2023, signals its growing role as a key player in the international defence landscape.
With this new global recognition, ASELSAN is poised to expand its reach further and foster new partnerships, bolstering Turkiye’s presence in the world of high-tech defence. – airtimes.my
